Use the fact that angles inside a triangle sum to 180° to find the missing angle X
Home / 5th grade / Shapes / Angle problems / Angles inside a triangle
The sum of the angles inside any triangle is always 180 degrees. This is known as the "Triangle Sum Theorem".
In this topic you are given diagrams of triangles where a certain angle x is not given a value. In each instance you are required to calculate angle x from the information provided, knowing that all the internal angles in a triangle add up to 180°.
For instance, question 1 shows an equilateral triangle with one angle marked as 60°. A second angle is marked x. We know that equilateral triangles have 3 internal angles of 60° so angle x is 60°.
Below is a table showing the first 6 question answer pairs for the topic "Angles inside a triangle" as used in the lessons for this topic. Our games and tests for the topic use these 6 items plus 10 additional question answer pairs.
The topic "Angles inside a triangle" is in the category Shapes for 5th grade (ages 10 to 11).
