Divide by 10
This topic teaches you to divide numbers by 10. There are different ways you can divide by 10. The easiest way is if you know your times tables - then you can say the 10 times table in your head until you reach the number you want to divide. Another way is to count up in steps of 10 to the number you have been asked to divide.
For example, if you want to divide 40 by 10, you can count up in 10s so.. 10, 20, 30, 40 and see that the answer is 4 because you counted up 4 times. That is because:
10 + 10 + 10 + 10 = 40
and
4 x 10 = 40
so
40 ÷ 10 = 4
