Game: UXO
Aim: Knock out the targets, avoid the bombs
Method:
Click or tap and hold to destroy the objects while avoiding the bombs. When you knock out all 10 targets, you must answer the question to continue to the next level. There is a time limit of 30 seconds to get all 10 targets or you lose 50 points.
Scoring is :
Hit target : +10
Hit bomb : -5
Right answer : +50
Wrong answers : -20
5th grade / Multiply + Divide / Order of operations / Order of operations: missing multiple
This topic is intended to reinforce the mutual relationship between multiplication and division. Each question starts with a number. That number is multiplied by a second number then divided by a third number. The answer is given, but the second number (the multiple) is missing and needs to be calculated. You do this by multiplying the divisor (the third number) by the answer, then dividing that by the first number.
So, in the first question from the lesson we have an equation of the form:
4 x โข รท 3 = 12
We can calculate the missing value โข by moving the รท 3 to the other side of the equation which converts it to x 3. So now we know that:
4 x โข = 12 x 3 = 36
We can now move the x 4 across to the other side where it becomes รท 4. No we have:โข = 36 รท 4 = 9
So the solution is that the value of the missing multiple is 9.
With our UXO math game you will be practicing the topic "Order of operations: missing multiple" from 5th grade / Multiply + Divide / Order of operations. The math in this game consists of 16 questions that ask you to work back from the answer to find the missing multiple in these multiply then divide 2 step operations.
UXO is a fun game to learn math where you attempt to knock over all the target objects while avoiding clicking / tapping on the bombs.
After each level, win an additional 50 points by correctly answering a math question from your selected topic. Wrong answers lose you 20 points but you can answer multiple times. Each level lasts 30 seconds: if you haven't cleared all the targets in that time, you lose 50 points. High scores can be added to the UXO leaderboards.
