The diameter of a circle is its maximum width which is always a line that passes through the center of the circle.
The radius of a circle is the distance from the center of the circle to the edge. The radius is always exactly half the length of the diameter.
The circumference of a circle is the length of it's perimeter. It has been known since the time of the ancient greeks that the circumference of a circle can be calculated if you know it's diameter or radius, and the value of π (pi).
To calculate the circumference from a given diameter, use the formula:
C = πd (where d is the diameter).
To calculate the circumference from a given radius, use the formula:
C = 2πr (where r is the radius).
