8th grade / Geometry & measures / Measures of 2D shapes / Circumference / Circumference of semicircles
A semicircle is defined as exactly half a circle. Given the radius or diameter of a semicircle, we can calculate the circumference. The circumference length will include both the arc of the semicircle and the diameter (or 2 times the radius).
Given a radius r, the circumference of a semicircle is calculated as:
Circumference = (π x Radius) + (2 x Radius)
Given a diameter d, the circumference of a semicircle is calculated as:
Circumference = (π x Diameter/2) + Diameter
With our Four in a row math game you will be practicing the topic "Circumference of semicircles" from 8th grade / Geometry & measures / Measures of 2D shapes / Measures of 2D shapes. The math in this game consists of 16 questions that ask you to use C = πr + 2r to calculate the circumference of the given semicircles to 2 d.p..
The game will reinforce the math you have chosen to learn by getting you to match the question to the correct answer.
