5th grade / Shapes / Angle problems / Angles on a straight line
Angles on a straight line always add up to 180°. So, if we know what one angle is, we can work out the second angle. Angles that add together to make a straight line are called supplementary angles. A straight line or an angle on a straight line has an angle of 180°.
In this topic you are given diagrams of angles on a straight line where an angle x is not given a value. In each instance you are required to calculate angle x from the information provided.
For instance, question 1 shows a straight line intersected by a another line. One of the angles between the straight line and the other line is marked as being 150°. The other angle is marked x. We can easily work out the size of angle x by subtracting 150 from 180. So angle x is 30°.
With our Four in a row math game you will be practicing the topic "Angles on a straight line" from 5th grade / Shapes / Angle problems. The math in this game consists of 16 questions that ask you to use the fact that angles on a straight line sum to 180° to find the missing angle x.
The game will reinforce the math you have chosen to learn by getting you to match the question to the correct answer.
