Calculate mixed fractions of quantities by multiplying the whole number and the fraction parts separately
Multiplying mixed fractions by integer quantities can be achieved in several different ways. This topic "Mixed fractions of quantities" teaches you how to do so by multiplying the whole number part of the mixed fraction by the integer quantify first, then multiplying the fraction part of the mixed fraction by the quantify, then adding the two parts.
For example,
6 x 2½ = (6 x 2) + (6 x ½)
The second part (multiplying fractions by integer quantities) we have covered separately with our topics "Unit fractions of a quantities" and "Proper fractions of quantities".
