To calculate the area of a rectangle, you will need to know the lengths of its longer and shorter sides. The formula for finding the area of a rectangle is:
Area = length x width
For example, if the length of a rectangle is 5 units and it's width is 3 units, it's area can be calculated by:
Area = 5 x 3 = 15 square units
Another example, if the length of a rectangle is 100 units and the width is 40 units, the area of the rectangle is:
Area = 100 x 40 = 4000 square units
So, to calculate the area of a rectangle, simply multiply its length (longer side) by its width (shorter side).
With our Sow grow math game you will be practicing the topic "Area of rectangles" from 5th grade / Algebra / Formulae: area. The math in this game consists of 16 questions that ask you to calculate the area of rectangles using the formula area A = length L x width W.
Sow grow is a gentle game that concentrates on your ability to answer math questions. The game itself is very simple to play and does not require manual dexterity or fast reaction times. You are growing sunflowers in pots on a window sill. When you answer questions correctly you get to pick a sunflower to put in the vase. When the vase is full, you have completed the game.
