3rd grade / Shapes / Properties of 2-D shapes / How many sides
Regular named 2D shapes have a set number of sides which is part of their definition. In this topic you are asked to identify how many sides each named shape has (circles and ovals are not thought of as having sides).
Quadrilaterals: All quadrilaterals have 4 sides - that is how a quadrilateral is defined. The quadrilaterals include the square, rectangle, kite, rhombus and trapezoid.
Triangles: All triangles have 3 sides.
More than 4 sides: pentagon, hexagon, etc. A pentagon has 5 sides, a hexagon has 6, a septagon has 7 and an octagon has 8 sides.
In this topic you are shown a series of diagrams of regular 2D shapes. You must give the number of sides for each shape.
With our Sow grow math game you will be practicing the topic "How many sides" from 3rd grade / Shapes / Properties of 2-D shapes. The math in this game consists of 24 questions that ask you to identify the number of sides that each of these named 2-dimensional shapes have.
Sow grow is a gentle game that concentrates on your ability to answer math questions. The game itself is very simple to play and does not require manual dexterity or fast reaction times. You are growing sunflowers in pots on a window sill. When you answer questions correctly you get to pick a sunflower to put in the vase. When the vase is full, you have completed the game.
