4th grade / Measurements / Convert units / Convert grams to kilograms
In the metric system, units are related by a factor of 10. This makes it easy to convert between different units of measurement. Grams (g) and kilograms (kg) are both units of mass in the metric system. To convert between them, we need to know that the relationship between the two units is:
1 kilogram (kg) = 1000 grams (g)
This means that there are 1000 grams in a kilogram. To convert grams to kilograms, we need to divide the number of grams by 1000 (to convert kilograms to grams, we would need to multiply the number of kilograms by 1000).
For example, convert 450 grams to kilograms.
450 g รท 1000 = 0.45 kg
Example 2, convert 8937 grams to kilograms.
8937 g รท 1000 = 8.937 kg
In this topic you are asked to convert masses given in grams to kilograms. The masses range from 1000 grams to 16,140 grams.
With our Mix and match math game you will be practicing the topic "Convert grams to kilograms" from 4th grade / Measurements / Convert units. The math in this game consists of 20 questions that ask you to convert the given number of grams to the equivalent number of kilograms.
In this game we are in a room with lots of toys - and the room needs clearing up - you need to put the play blocks back in the right boxes to tidy the room and win the game...but which is the right box for each block? Well, you can work that out by comparing the question on the block with the math answer on each of the boxes - you should drag the question block into the box whose math answer matches the picture question.
You can listen to the spoken math answer by clicking on the individual boxes. There are 5 blocks to clear up - but if you put them in the wrong boxes, there will be more... Anyway, tidy is good and practicing math is better so start now and see how you get on...
This game reinforces the math you learned or revised in the lesson by asking you to match each question to the correct answer. If you are older you may not like the childish reference to toys, but don't worry - there are other games to play, and who knows - you might like a trip down memory lane?

Rock fall * Four in a row * Sow grow * Choose or lose * Mix and match
There are 5 blocks that need putting away to tidy the play room. Drag (they are heavy...) the blocks to the correct boxes.
