Reverse times table division
for 3rd grade

Find the answer for these reverse times table divisions

How to do reverse times table division

Reverse times table divisions refer to the process of dividing a number by the numbers in a times table, rather than multiplying a number by the numbers in a times table.

For example, the 2 times table is: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, and so on. To perform a reverse times table division, we would take a number, say 12, and divide it by the numbers in the 2 times table. So we would perform the following calculations:

  • 2 ÷ 2 = 1
  • 4 ÷ 2 = 2
  • 6 ÷ 2 = 3
  • 8 ÷ 2 = 4
  • 10 ÷ 2 = 5
  • 12 ÷ 2 = 6
  • 14 ÷ 2 = 7
  • 16 ÷ 2 = 8
  • 18 ÷ 2 = 9
  • 20 ÷ 2 = 10

Reverse times table divisions can be useful for developing your fluency in division, as well as for problem-solving and understanding the relationships between numbers. It is a good way to reinforce your times tables and to help you see the "inverse relationship" between multiplication and division.
