Method:
Choose a square and click on it. Click on the correct answer to the question in the box that appears. If you are right the square is replaced by a tick. Continue until you have won 4 in a row...
7th grade / Geometry & measures / Measures of 3D shapes / Volume / Calculate the volume of cuboids
A cuboid is a form of prism which means that it has a fixed cross section throughout it's length. The volume of prisms is calculated by multiplying the area of the cross-section by the length. Since the cross-section of a cuboid is a rectangle, the volume of cylinders can be calculated using the formula:
V = H x W x L
For example, if we have a box with a length of 6 cm, a width of 4 cm and a height of 5 cm, the volume of that box will be:
V = 5 x 4 x 6 = 120 cmΒ³
This topic asks you to calculate the volume of different sized cuboids. The questions give you the 3 required dimensions to calculate volume. The calculations can often be done in your head, but you may sometimes require a calculator (especially if you are playing a game and want fast answers). All answers in this topic are integers.
With our Four in a row math game you will be practicing the topic "Calculate the volume of cuboids" from 7th grade / Geometry & measures / Measures of 3D shapes / Measures of 3D shapes. The math in this game consists of 16 questions that ask you to use the standard formula (length x width x height) to calculate the volume of cuboids.
The game will reinforce the math you have chosen to learn by getting you to match the question to the correct answer.
