Method:
Choose a square and click on it. Click on the correct answer to the question in the box that appears. If you are right the square is replaced by a tick. Continue until you have won 4 in a row...
5th grade / Algebra / Formulae: perimeter / Perimeter of equilateral triangles
The perimeter of an equilateral triangle is the sum of the lengths of all three sides. Since all sides of an equilateral triangle are equal in length, we can find the perimeter by simply multiplying the length of one side by 3. In general, the formula for calculating the perimeter of an equilateral triangle is:
Perimeter P = 3 x L(length of one side)
For example, if the length of one side of an equilateral triangle is 5 cm, the perimeter would be:
5 cm x 3 = 15 cm
Another example, if the length of one side of an equilateral triangle is 8 inches, the perimeter would be:
8.1 cm x 3 = 24.3 cm
The perimeter of non-equilateral triangles can also be calculated by adding the lengths of each side, but these lengths may be different from each other so the formula P = 3L only applies to equilateral triangles.
With our Four in a row math game you will be practicing the topic "Perimeter of equilateral triangles" from 5th grade / Algebra / Formulae: perimeter. The math in this game consists of 16 questions that ask you to use the formula P = 3 x length to work out the perimeter of these equilateral triangles.
The game will reinforce the math you have chosen to learn by getting you to match the question to the correct answer.
