4th grade / Position + Direction / Translate a shape / Right and up
This topic asks you to decide which of the shapes has moved the specified number of grid squares right and up from the pink shape labelled P. The correct answer is always the label of the appropriate shape which can be T or R or S.
All the questions use 2 x 2 squares as shapes, and all are shown on the first quadrant of the cartesian grid, showing the 10 by 10 cells closest to the origin.
In the first question, the pink square P is at position "1 right, 2 up" from the origin (considering its lower left corner). The question asks which square is the result of applying the translation "right 2, up 2" to square P. Counting from the lower left corner of the P square 2 right and 2 up you can see that it is the green square R that occupies that space, so the answer is R.
With our Four in a row math game you will be practicing the topic "Right and up" from 4th grade / Position + Direction / Translate a shape. The math in this game consists of 16 questions that ask you to identify the shape that has moved X squares right and Y squares up.
The game will reinforce the math you have chosen to learn by getting you to match the question to the correct answer.
