To calculate 10% of a number, you can multiply that number by the fraction 1/10. This is because 10% can be written as the fraction ratio 10/100 which can be simplified to 1/10.
So, say we wanted to know 10% of 50. We would multiply the 50 by 1 then divide by 10 to get 10%.
10% of 50 = ( 50 x 1 ) / 10 = 5
As another example, what would 10% of 967 be?
10% of 967 = 967 / 10 = 96.7
You can also calculate 10% using decimals. To calculate 10% of a number using decimals, multiply that number by 0.1. This is because 10% can be written as the decimal 0.1.
