Add millilitres to litres
To add litres and millilitres together, you first need to convert the litres to millilitres. This is because litres and millilitres are related but different units of measurement for volume, and you cannot directly add them without first converting them to the same unit. Here's how to do it:
Convert litres to millilitres: As there are 1,000 millilitres in a litre, you need to multiply the number of litres by 1,000 to convert it to millilitres.
For example, let's say you have 3 litres and 250 millilitres. To convert the 3 litres to millilitres, you would multiply by 1,000:
3 litres x 1,000 = 3,000 millilitres
Add the converted volume to the millilitres: Now that you have the volume in millilitres, you can add it to the other volume, which is already in millilitres.
3,000 ml + 250 ml = 3,250 ml
So, the combined volume of 3 litres and 250 millilitres is 3,250 millilitres.
Another example, add 1.3 litres and 740 millilitres.
Converting the litres to millilitres we have 1.3 L x 1,000 = 1,300 ml.
Adding the millilitres we have 1,300 ml + 740 ml = 2,040 ml.
So, the combined volume of 1.3 litres and 740 millilitres is 2,040 millilitres.

How to play 4 in a row to practice
'Add liters and milliliters' for 3rd grade

- Take a quick look at the method text for 4 in a row.
