4th grade / Addition / Number bonding / Number bonding to 200
Number bonding is a method for recognizing common combinations of numbers that add to a specific target number. In this topic we are looking at pairs of numbers that bond to 200, and specifically, multiples of 10 that bond to 200. So, the obvious pair you might think of is:
100 + 100 = 200
Obviously there are many other combinations that also bond to 200:
50 + 150 = 200
80 + 120 = 200
40 + 160 = 200
One thing you will notice is that we could knock off the final zero and think about number pairs that bond to 20. You will also notice that we can play around with these bonds to derive related facts - for instance:
30 + 170 = 200
170 + 30 = 200
30 = 200 - 170
170 = 200 - 30
200 - 170 = 30
200 - 30 = 170
So knowing your number bonds opens up a lot of related facts that can speed up your mental arithmetic.
With our Choose or lose math game you will be practicing the topic "Number bonding to 200" from 4th grade / Addition / Number bonding. The math in this game consists of 30 questions that ask you to identify pairs of multiples of 10 that bond to 200.
Our CHOOSE OR LOSE game is a simple activity to help elementary math learners and will improve the speed at which you can solve problems in the given topic. It does not rely on the learner typing in the answer. Rather, the learner must choose the correct answer from a list of 2, 3 or 4 similar answers.
