Great games can be a great way of reinforcing math for young learners. Interactive games introduce excitement and competition into the learning mix which can particularly suit some boys who are resistant to other learning (or teaching) methods.

The games must be easy to understand and play without long explanations or pages of rules - simple games can be just as exciting as more complicated ones as long as they are well-designed.

About the games

Our math games are designed to be both simple to understand and quick to play. They are suitable for both school pupils and home-educated children and are designed to be played by individual players learning or revising math. The games are primarily based on answering questions either using the keyboard or multiple choice - this is done in a variety of ways in the different games.

All our games are available online and are free to use with all our topics - that is well over 17,000 question / answer pairs that are at the core of any Secondary math course. Our games are accompanied by math lessons and tests to provide a vital free resource for math learners with limited (or no) budget. The details for each game are given on their own pages.

Click on the name of a game to go to that game page with the topic you have selected. On the game page there are instructions on how to play the game in addition to a chance to change the topic you want to play with. All our Secondary math games are quick to play and easy to understand. You need to have seen the math you are going to play with before you play the games, either at school or using our own Math lessons.

You have 30 seconds to click or drag over 10 target objects in each level. Hitting a target gives you plus 10 points. Clicking a bomb lowers your score by 5. Right answers are +50, wrong answers are -20.

Duck shoot

Fairground themed game where you use the catapult to fire balls at the rows of ducks crossing the screen. Each round has more ducks and they move faster. Answer a question after each round to win extra points.

This is not a timed game.

Use your keyboard arrow keys or tap your device touchscreen to control the frog and catch the flies. Avoid the birds! Answer the questions to win points - you have 5 seconds only...
Scoring is based on speed and the number of correct answers. Fast game...but it can be paused!

This is our version of the classic early computer game "Breakout" ( itself a development of the even earlier "Pong" game - we prefer that name ) where a player controls a bar that knocks a ball or puck around the screen.

You control the cat with the arrow keys or by tapping where you want it to go - some of the mice are white and you need to catch them - catching white mice gives you questions that can win you points.

Avoid the red balloons but hit the blue ones. Timed game.

The aim of the game is to fill the vase with pretty flowers - high scores leaderboard and bonus points available.

You see a set of questions - for each question you are offered 2 to 4 similar answers but only one of them is a correct. Click the right answer to win points but ... you only have 10 seconds.
